So I was watching the Military Channel and saw a commercial for www.todaysmilitary.com. A probably 18 or 19 year old kid is talking to a parent about joining the military because of benefits, benefits, and more benefits. It comes across as some of those Army commercials where the kid is trying to convince the parent that the military is the way to go. I was confused by what happened next - the kid asks the parent what he/she thinks about the decision to join the military and the parent gets blurry-eyed and stares off into nowhere. Then the commercial says "Your Turn" and directs people to get answers at the website.
When I first saw the commercial I thought it came across as though some special interest group was trying to dissuade people from joining the military. I checked out the website and I think I was wrong. It seems to provide clear and truthful information about what each branch of service has to offer.
If you've seen this commercial, I'm curious how you perceived it. Could it have been done better or was my original perception correct? Check out the website also and let me know.....
