Navy Regs: Velcro Backed Leather Nametag

They never de-authorized the khaki windbreaker, they just stopped selling it at the NEX. I got one from the Newport thrift shop. Still have it - still has ENS bars on it.

Why khaki instead of black? Because the black Ike looks like shit even when it's in good shape. It's not cut right and anyway, doesn't do much to keep you warm. At least the khaki windbreaker is cut to fit and has the benefit of being old-school - the Black Ike was introduced in the mid-90's. Before that, all khaki, all the time.

Considering the usual uniform is khaki trousers, khaki shirt, khaki cover and BROWN shoes, saying the jacket is "too much khaki" seems kinda odd.
 
I think the khaki Ike looks much better than the black one. The khaki has a sort of vintage look to it. The black one has a "im contemporary but trying my hardest to fit in with the vintage crowd" look.

I'm not worried, by any means ;) I was asking because I have seen both types and wanted to know which one was most common per the regs.

I don't know. The black Ike reminds me of those Members Only jackets---and you know how cool they were back in the day.:D
