hello everbody,

I was wondering if anybody could give me the straight story on whether or not the Navy will guarantee a flight contract prior to going to OCS?

I have already started the application process, but I hear two different stories from the USN and USMC. I just want to know the deal.

Thanks

I think the reason the USMC guarantees flight contracts, is because they don't guarantee any ground contracts other than law. If you go ground, you won't know what you're doing until after TBS. With the Navy, you apply for a specific designator, and contigent on finishing the training, that's what you'll be.

To summarize (and so that I'll shut the f--- up), if you apply for pilot, you will go into OCS with the designator of SNA.
