Hey everyone, been a while since I posted.
For starters, I took the ASTB around the end of November for the third time, and finally got the score I needed (8/7/7). I want to thank everyone who has posted information regarding that test, especially those who put together the Gomez drive and similar materials. They were a huge help.
My recruiter is now submitting my package, but I’ve been told it will likely be about a year before I can ship to basic training. I’m not great at just waiting around, so I’m trying to figure out the best way to prepare in the meantime.
My goal is to become the best Navy fighter pilot I can be. Are there any books, courses, or study materials you’d recommend to get ahead on academics or aviation fundamentals? I didn’t do ROTC or attend the Naval Academy, so I want to make sure I’m not behind the curve.
Right now, with the long wait, the main thing I am worried about is losing motivation or getting cold feet. Has anyone else experienced that?
Also, does anyone have recommendations for a workout plan? I’ve heard fighter pilots should prioritize core and leg strength, but I’d appreciate any guidance.
Any information is greatly appreciated.
Happy New Year!
