NAS Pensacola Visit...

"We lookin fo you. We gon find you!"
Hey guys...I just submitted all my final docs for BDCP/SNA. I am going to see my family in Gulf Shores and Fairhope August 15-21. Each year I go to the emerald coast, I make it a point to go to the Naval Aviation Museum. I would like to do the same this year, but I also had another thought. This question may seem weird, but do they offer tours of the NAS? Doubt it, but I'd be very interested in seeing a side of Naval aviation I have not before. Old planes hanging from the ceiling in the museum are badass, but after seeing them every year since I was 6, I'd love to see more of the NAS. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Give the Base PAO a call (No idea on the #; Check the base website) and see what you can come up with.

Another option is, Call up one of the VT Squadrons (Or a couple..Depending on how much time you got while there) and see if their PAO can accomodate you to come on base and take a tour of the squadron(s) facilities. It's a blast being out there.

With a base tour you're probably gonna get to see the ins and outs of the NAS itself. A squadron tour you get to see the ins and outs of a squadron (Ops,Admin,The Jets,Scheduling,Ready Room, etc). I'm more for the latter but either will be a great experience.

Also another thing you can do if you don't find anyone on base is to ask around the museum and see if anyone knows say an instructor or someone who is stationed there, they can take you on base as a guest and show you around.
