I was just curious if anyone in the DFW area knows or is familiar with the flight schedule for the hornets at JRB Fort Worth? I've applied to Navy OCS to be a pilot, just wanted to go out to the base and watch them take off/land/fly around. The base said they update the flight schedules on their facebook page, I've checked it and they haven't updated anything in months. I contacted the base and never got a response.
There are
40 different commands as NAS/JRB Dallas-Ft. Worth. The RESERVE squadrons are the ones who fly the airplanes. The squadron flight schedules are NOT PUBLIC information and they DO NOT publish the their flight schedules due to Operations Security concerns. The Space-A schedule is published on the FB page for people who want to fly Space-Available from the Reserve base.
The only squadrons at KNFW are:
AF:
-457th Fighter Squadron: F-16Cs...(Soon to be F-35As)
Navy:
-Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 46 (VR-46): C-40A
-Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 59 (VR-59): C-40A
USMC:
-Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234 (VMGR-234): KC-130s
-Marine Fighter/Attack Squadron 112 (VMFA-112): F/A-18A (recently deployed to Japan 2021)
Texas ANG:
-181st Airlift Squadron (181 AS): C-130H
My advice is to find the phone number to one of the squadrons, explain your background and desire, and they may be able to tell you some info...maybe not.
You may want to attend a
Blue Angel Airshow....that may fill your need.
