Still, being a cute chick in the military is like being the hot chick at MIT. It's like affirmative action for ugly women--they get 3 points added to their score. A girl who in civilian life was a homely "3" is now an above average "6" in the military, while a nice-looking "7" is now a drop-dead "10."

The Air Force gals only need 2 points of assistance.

You remind me of my college... WPI. A tech school like MIT (but smaller). 4 to 1 guy to girl ratio (at least when I was there). We had two classifications of girls... hot and WPI hot. There was a big difference. Not only that, but many girls at WPI suffered from RIBS... Ratio Induced B!tch Syndrome... they could get any guy they wanted and knew it...

Off topic a bit, but I was watching that tight whips video (hilarious) and saw the dog. I've heard about units over there adopting pets as mascots. Does anyone know if those guys are allowed to bring them back to the states with them? I know it's a different situation, but I know they changed the rules so that military dog handlers can adopt their working dogs once the dog retires.

Officially no. All the force protection gurus always say to stay away from local animals like the plague, and probably because of the plague, among other things. It would suck to go med down for rabies.

That said, it happens. We had a dog in Macedonia (staging area for Kosovo), a mangy looking Lab-something (maybe part monkey--token obscure Carlin reference) that would always meander into our ready room tent.He was so chill we'd actually lay maps on top of him while we briefed. We didn't take him home with us, but a ground Marine with our MEU had a pet she managed to hook up with a C-130 back to the states. That was an individual hook-up, though, not policy.
