coke bottle + pool acid (muriatic/hydrochloric) + aluminum foil

cap it, the chemical reaction causes gas, which builds up till it blows apart.

...or so I've heard
do you shred the aluminum foil before putting into the coke bottle? I would think this would aid the rx by increasing the surface area of available foil to react with the chemicals.

You're kidding right??...you gonna count extra edges of aluminum foil as increased surface area? That's like saying paper has six sides.

That's funny stuff.

Actually, depending on the reaction, this could make a difference. Think of it like one block of gun propellent versus many different smaller pieces. In the Al foil case the surface area increase may not make much of a factor, but the chemical can react more efficiently with a bunch of smaller pieces.

Only way I can come up with getting foil into the coke bottle is by crunching it up and stuffing it into the small opening. Wouldn't it make more sense to tear it up into small pieces before putting the foil in?

^ Yeah, his plan is the best. Why are you two monkeys so well versed in "acid bomb" construction? You goddamned kids and your tomfoolery and..uhm...your "music televevision".

Since no one else added this... I read in a book/magazine/tv/movie (etc ;) ) that the same can be done with dry ice, water, and the same afformentioned 2 liter bottle.

What am I the only guy that learned you can do this with a coke bottle, water, and an MRE heater?

Great way to wake somebody up on a camping trip. :D

Sorry to awaken a dead thread, but I have to say that I cannot be judgemental of the Ensign. While he is a jackass, I can't claim total innocence with regards to juvenille behavior. Who here has heard of an MRE bomb? Great fun while drunk on advanced party during a workup exercise. AP Hill is a great place to be on advanced party in the wing... No one around, grass strip, lots of juvenille behavior to be had. Problem was, he brought it into the realm of the public. He forgot about that "special trust and confidence" part of his comission...

Are you sure he even did what they are saying he did?
