Actually I think they change the title to Airplane Flying Handbook sometime last year. It can be found online at the FAA website. But it talks mostly about how to fly a plane. Airplane Training Handbook

The Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge talks more about theory - aerodynamics, how the controls work, etc. It too is online at the FAA website. Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge

jesus that took almost a full page just to explain how to recovery from a stall... cmon guys ur slackin! :icon_tong jkjk , but what if ur inverted when u stall... do u still lower my nose then? what if u stall with a neg aoa and ur upright.... ok sorry... im bored...

What about a compressor blade stall? Ah, the engine can stall, cough, cough, sputter, sputter. On a jet engine the laminar flow of air into the intake section is critical. If the angle of attack is abruptly change, the angular change in intake air changes too rapidly and the air/fuel mixture is disturbed causing a compressor blade stall. To rectify glide downward to regain compressor speed and relight. Not covered in Langewishe's book.
 
If you stall upside down, you'll immediatley be going down like a bat out of hell. You still press the stick forward. The nose will be pointing earthward after the stall occurs.
 
Thought they were called elevators, not elavators. :icon_tong Too bad my aircraft doesn't have elevators. It has a stabilator. ;)
