Since I am brand spanking new to the navy, I figured I'd post another question here!
I am home on leave from P-cola, and I want to go see a doctor since I've been sick for a few weeks. Should I call up the medical clinic on the base closest to my house, or something else? I live near an NAS/JRB, so I could do that but I am not sure if that is what I am supposed to do.

You're fully covered no matter what you do, but the easiest thing to do would be to go to the JRB medical and tell them what's up. Less paperwork/phone calls. They will give you some medical papersto put in your record when you get back. I had to do the same thing, it was a snap.

Not recommended, but they will understand. Don't be afraid, they can't turn you away.

Have you tried the Tricare website or toll-free number? They should be able to direct you to the nearest Military Treatment Facility or authorize civilian care.

another option. you can go to the emergency room, you just have to call tricare to let them know you did it. I did it 2 years ago... I knew I had bronchitus and just needed antibiotics... no uniforms and did not want a downing chit when I was not even flying. Went in, got the meds.... end of story.
