You gotta talk to the YN's about it, they have you fill out some PU-55/Y form and off you go. I guess it saves the Navy money by not having the funds in their bank and they pass it on to you.

This sounds eerily similar to when a friend of mine was told to go ask a SFC for a PRC-E7 tool to help clean rifles when he was stashed in the armory...

EDIT: forgot to post this question...how long does it normally take for a promotion to show up in one's bank account? I'm not really worried about moneys, but it would be nice to know if I'm going to get paid at a level commensurate with my skills, dedication, and hard work sometime soon... haha i keed i keed.
