AAARRRRRRRRRRRRR !!! My brain if frying! And I'm going to get paid to do this ... WHOOO HOOO!!! Anyway, for you guys who aren't familar with what I'm talking about and wanting to fly, might want to do a little research, this stuff is kinda neat!

Very good. I think we need a section like this to pop out aviation problems such as this. I knew that one, but when you don't know something or do know something you can always learn something, or brush up on something.

Assume overcast. Temperature is 5C at surface. Density altitude is 1,500 at surface. At what altitude is the freezing point expected?

Freezing level? What's that? Sheesh, the last freezing level I saw was at like 14000 feet. Hell, I get a nosebleed at 1000 feet . Gotta love the tropical zone.

ummmm being a Texas boy, I guess that is a bad example. I went to school in Lubbock, is there a way of figuring out at what altitude to expect the dust level? In lubbock that would be easy, I believe it extends from ground to space

i thought to double the speed of the aircraft you need to cube the power required????
METARS...what a pain. whats the indentifier for the hours of sunlight in the previous 24 hours. who the hell cares!
