Meridian Studs or others - need help with some scenery

Here is a weird request I'm sure. I am designing some scenery for Flight Simulator X of KNJW (Joe Williams NOLF) and I have a couple of questions that I probably can only have answered from someone who's been there. Anyone know how tall the control tower is? Also is there a lighted airport beacon and if so where is it located? If anyone has any photos of KNJW that would be greatly appreciated as well. I'm making this scenery for my own enjoyment and I'll upload it to flight sim sites for others to use as well. There's a pretty cool T-45C for FSX that will be great to do some FCLP here. Thanks to anyone who can help...feel free to PM me if you don't want to post here for some reason. Brandon

You could probably save yourself some time and energy by just going to Airnav.com or getting yourself an A/FD for the specifics to the actual airport layout.

Thanks...I am familiar with Airnav and I use it often. I've also checked the A/FD and these specific questions aren't answered there. I honestly can design the airport with the published information available, but I was just looking for some little details to make it more realistic. I came here because I figured someone here who has probably done alot of bouncing at the field would probably know. The closest view I can get is the birds eye view on bing maps and I'm trying to design some custom buildings so I was looking for some more info or photos.

If you can throw something in the modeling to simulate a small field in a big grove of trees that is hard as shit to see until you are practically on top of it, then you are probably getting something right. I recall there being a beacon when I went there at night, and the tower is pretty small/short. Main parking area is on the far side of the ramp near all the buildings and fire station. Hot pits are on the right hand side of the parking area/ramp if you are facing the buildings. Hope that helps

The beacon is on top of the tower. I can't say for sure how tall the tower is. It's shorter than the one at NMM, which I'd guess is around 65-70' tall. So maybe 45-50' tall? Wild guesses here. Be sure to put a lens and LSO shack at each end of the runway. And if you could model in carrier boxes that are lit at night, that'd be pretty sweet.

I'd snap some pictures of the field for you, but I have this distinct feeling that I'd be breaking some kind of law.

We have a stud who has struck four birds thus far, and took one down the intake. BASH instantly goes to severe whenever he's flying.

Ironically enough, for all the close calls I had at NMM or Joe Williams, my only actual birdstrike was leading a 4 ship out of centro. Must have been awesome as -2/3/4 to see me go planform on everyone as I cranked back around to high key

Just when I thought BASH at Joe was bad I go to Key West. I think all the birds from MS must have migrated here

Thanks for all of the replies guys...especially the candid ones. You can actually put birds in the sim so I'll probably add those it for some effect. Thanks for the info on the beacon being located on the tower. That was one of the things I was looking for. I'm currently attempting to model the tower in a 3d program using the birds eye view maps on bing that I've found so I'll add the beacon to the top. I think 40' for the tower is what I was guessing at as well so that helps me narrow it down even more. I've seen some scenery with carrier boxes that are lit at night but I think they only work in missions and not free flight. I'll have to check. Again thanks everyone and I'll post some screenshots here of the scenery when it progresses or gets finished.
