Hey guys, just looking for some advice. So I just applied and was disqualified from AF OTS because of a medical issue that is really not an issue. So I have always had really bad cramps during that time of the months, and my doctor was concerned about endometriosis because of family history so I had surgery in March 2010 just to make sure everything was ok and it was. However, I was disqualified because of my pain history that is really not anything that every woman deals with, so what should I say to my recruiter when I give him my medical records? Or should I just not say anything about that surgery? Please help because I want this so badly, the only reason I applied for AF first was because I interned for them in college and everyone told me that is what I should do first, but my Dad was in the Navy for 20 years and I want to follow in his footsteps. Thanks!

Always be honest about your medical history. It might be a service-wide policy on how you were dealt with your pain history in relation to menstrual cramps, but I'm not sure. There's a thread for medical questions, just use the search function.

GreenLantern330 is right. Not good to fudge on records.

Regarding your issue, and that's what it is, a medical issue, I think you would be wise to do a bit of pre-emptive work. Go to your OBGYN and tell him/her what you want to do. Let them do the exam, then ask them for a copy. Take that with you to the recruiter. Make his/her job easier and they will thank you for it. And, maybe, work a bit harder for you.
