Hello Everyone,
I am currently new to the forums and I would like to apologize if my thread should not be posted among this section of the forums but I would like to verify if I do qualify for the Navy with my current vision. I would like to hopefully join the SWO or Supply Corps community as well. I recently went to the doctors and told him the requirements to join the military. The information was found on a website called "the balance."
My current vision results are as follows:
RT: -2.75 DVA: 20/20-
LT: -2.50 DVA: 20/20-
Diagnosis: Regular astigmatism, Bilateral, Myopia
During my visit, I asked if my vision is correctable to 20/20 and that If I do qualify for the military and he stated yes. Keep in mind my vision test was on a military facility so I assumed he knew the standards for the vision portion. I did some research around the web and found out that people with astigmatism were DQ'd through MEPS and needed a waiver. To save some time and to uphold a smooth journey to OCS, I would like to know if I do actually qualify for the Navy and also, if my vision is a problem, should I prepare proper documentation from other eye doctors when my time comes for MEPS and worst case scenario they do say my vision is a problem?
