MEDEVAC crash in TN

Looks like an engine failure - a very rare occurrence nowadays. Considering the pilot was climbing through 100 feet, a low inertia rotor system and in the middle of the Height - Velocity diagram (Deadman's Curve) - a superb job by the pilot for everyone to make it out ok.

Amazing. Skids spread but tailboom and airframe nor even crinkled. Must have been the mother of all "cut guns"!

Looks like solid flying.

2 more Bell 407 crashes - both on 26 June.

From Germany, has not disclosed the reason for the crash - but it was 5 NM from a refueling site.... Pilot survived auto but it looks like the rotor chopped off the tail boom after touchdown.



From Brazil, no reason yet given for the crash but over the forest. Aircraft caught fire after the crash and burned - all 5 aboard were fatalities.

(not much to see other than a hole in the forest - nothing left of the helo.)
