Ever since ASO school I've found that I really don't like watching videos of pilots' final moments, so I won't post it. If you want to watch it, it's available.
But a stark reminder occured today that reminds us that you can do everything right and still find yourself on the wrong end of the stick.
We've all found ourselves in that flight regime- too much speed to stop within the remaining runway (and with trees on the departure end) and not enough energy available to fly away. You quickly get through it, and live to fight another day.
These guys though, they didn't. Aviation isn't dangerous but it is unforgiving.
In this moment, I wish those guys had an 18,000 foot runway.
