I guess the 'motion of the ocean' wasn't good enough for some people? That, or maybe it was the fact that they were a royal pain in the ass if you punctured it? On the up side, though, if you fell asleep with a lit cigarette, you might not burn to death...

Yeah...I know its been said....Tempurpedic...wow.

We got ours on a Monday, and it took the week to get used to. Not that it was uncomfortable right away, just different. No problems with the heat and I usually hang a leg out if you know what I mean.;)

The first weekend we had it and I could sleep in I actually slept for 11 hours straight. Haven't done that since I was 13. Great product, no gripes. We were fortunate enough to have a neighbor liquidating a business and got a deal but, with the trial, why not try it? Additionally, several mattress companies, (Serta comes to mind but there are others) make memory foam mattresses for substantially less (70% the cost) so maybe check one of those out if the money is tight.

One last note...certain <Ahem> "activities" are very different on memory foam mattresses...probably the most interesting change.;)

I use a tempurpedic pad over my regular mattress (the 2" type) and it's very comfortable. My only concern has been that it tends to develop an indentation where you sleep. I don't know if that problem is alleviated with the full thickness mattresses.

Agree with Brett, also it is a much cheaper trial before making a huge purchase on a new mattress that you may not like. I got one for our bed at overstock.com at a VERY cheap price and it made a big difference.

Third baby?;) See Brett...she knows what I mean.:D

She's getting her money's worth out of that uterus. A word of caution though, I had an aunt who bore 9 children (she was a Mormon). One day, she was doing the dishes, and her uterus fell out - right onto the floor.

It may sound silly - but you can give a bed a test run at some major hotel chains.

I slept on a tempur-pedic bed at a Sheraton in Atlanta - was great. Also get to sleep on the Hilton beds every time I stay with them - and they're (pricey, but) fantastic. Of course - I can't attest to durability...

We (my wife, really) decided on the Tempurpedic Rhapsody. Pricey, but after a solid half hour nap on the thing in the store, it seems like the right mix of cushion, support, and overall comfort. We'll have to wait and see about long-term comfort and how other activities pan out while onboard it, though.
