Is there anybody here on the forum that would have a group running the marathon or knows somebody that has a group and has space for one.

Thanks

You just seemed so pathetic...I'll tag on a post to put you back on the "New Threads" screen. I'm going to put in for next years. I did it 9 years ago and it's time to go back.

Thanks. People here don't seem to have the drive for a fun run :D.

How did you do, the last time you did it?

I read a hilarious article about an AF guy who didn't think it was necessary to train for a marathon- he just continued playing basketball with the guys. It was a marathon in Hawaii... the guy ended up chafed and raw and couldn't walk.

Don't remember which publication- it was in the waiting room at the health center at Brunswich. Think it was an Air Force safety magazine- i know i know, but boredom drives us to read all kinds of things in waiting rooms.

Anyone catch that article?

He has no interest in running that long. He is getting ready to go back to the sandbox, so this will be the least on his agenda.

I ran it last year and it was my first Marathon. I have since gotten into triathlons more but what a great experience and a great race. People cheering you on the entire route except miles 21-24 or so. If you are active duty then wear a Navy shirt and put your name on your shirt. I saw a lot of people cheering for each branch and if you had your name random people would give words of encouragement. Trust me, it helps. Marines are at every water stop passing out food and water. They all had great attitudes and were very upbeat. I'd like to run that race again but not one month before I go to OCS.
