Macklin!!!!

I remember seeing that film at the recruiter's office. It was filmed in 1997? The Batt buildings looked a bit different 10 years later....

Yeah, watched it after the ASTB. If thats what its really like, it will be a cake walk. I'm ready to PT my ass off though, LOL. Gig line, I love it!!!!

"Have a cup of coffee" yea right

I couldn't help but laugh at a few parts the first time I watched it with my recruiter... the DI reminded me of R. Lee Ermey's Gunny Hartman in FMJ. My recruiter didn't seem pleased.

I watched this too before reporting. I was quite surprised to see SSGT Erwin come back around my 7th week. I had my 9th week MTT (now RLP) with him. He was exactly the same in person although he couldn't pronounce my last name no matter how hard he tried.

Yep, they're still showing it. I remember watching it and then looking at my recruiter with a huge grin on his face thinking, "you've got to be kidding me."

The YP in the beginning... I've been on that specific one. They don't use YP's at OCS do they? Or for that matter, do they use them anywhere besides The Academy? [/threadjack]

That is exactly how OCS is. Have FUN!!!;)

Interesting... You can learn quite a bit in a short amount of time on a YP. I could see why they would use them.

I think it was one of the things they had to drop to shorten OCS from 13 to 12 weeks... read that somewhere.

(Thanks, ATL.:D )

He was my DI. Absolutely hilarious. Great guy. I think he's working as a contractor with the GSE stuff in Pensacola.

Okay, what does YP and DI stand for?!

I watched that after I took the ASTB too, funny stuff. I actually heard that something like 48% DOR. A friend whos an NFO said a guy in his class DOR'ed in the first hour of OCS - crazy.
