So I've been in to try and work this out with my recruiter. We saved the file as .rtf file and it looks better but I can't click on any of the links. I use a mac and obviously he uses the gov issued Del's. Has anyone had this problem? I thought I should ask on here before I bug him about it for the 5th time. I've got to finish my application dang it. Also, has anyone here done the EPSQ online? Wondering what info I need to locate (if any) prior to commencing with the questionnaire. THANKS!

Also I searched for this info but could not find any solutions.

Your recruiter should send you a paper version of the form before you go to fill it out.

Can't help you with the mac problem other than find a friend with a PC and do it on his computer.

Here is a PDF version of the SF-86, which is the same form you will fill out on NASIS:

http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/SF86.pdf

The form is fairly involved, so it helps a lot to go over everything on a paper version before you complete the online version.

And here is a link my Google search for the Application for Commission (use the first link.) I'm not able to upload the form itself because it is too large, but hopefully this helps:

I wouldn't bother with the SF-86, its now done online with e-QIP

I had my security interview done two days ago, and the investigator went over a copy of the SF-86 printed out from NASIS, the online system new acessions use to complete their background checks. I'm not sure what e-QIP is, but I'd guess (and set myself up for failure) that it's the system used for individuals already in the military.

The NASIS online form I completed a few weeks ago was exactly the same as the SF-86, and it helped immensly having a PDF version of the form to go over before I filled it out.

I can confirm that. I also had the interview two days ago lol. I also filled out both the in-station form and online form -- It's the same form, just on a different medium.

The best thing I can tell you is to take a blank sheet of paper and write down all the information that you need from your printed SF-86 (I should say three blank pieces of paper, but probably varies). After that, login to the website and just fill it out.

It is the same info, however E-qip, is what is now used instead of the EPSQ to file your security clearance. It is new, hasn't been going on very long, and yes it is essentially the same info.

NASIS is crap!

Has anyone else encountered any problems with NASIS recently? I can't get a lot of fields to open and I'm having trouble saving information.

Use Firefox for NASIS on Mac.

On PC I found that using IE worked the best.

I had problems with it when using Safari.

Not a Mac/PC issue as such, but for the last week I have been able to open ANY cnatra.navy.mil website from home with a Linux/Firefox combo.

Works fine on my UberFone, but no joy from my PC.

Any ideas?

I had a similar issue when in corpus. It seems that the ISP was giving out some IP addresses that the navy didn't like and just blocked. Try releasing your IP address, unplugging your router/modem for some time and trying a new IP address

Do other https websites such as USAA, etc work? I've been having the same issue with Firefox (on Windows though) locking up on any https site like Gmail, USAA, etc. The only thing that seems to help is restarting the browser; it then works fine for another 20 minutes or so.
