There ain't no way she's walking away from this. The Army's going to make an example out her and the embarrassment she caused our country.

I read today that she was actually trying to plea guilty and the judge denied it because there was evidence that she really did not regret what she did. Maybe I don't follow the news enough, but I have never heard of a case where a judge did not allow someone to plea guilty.

No. The plea was rejected because the judge felt that there was reasonable evidence to support the notion that she didn't know she was doing anything wrong.

She is wearing the moron, I mean, maroon, beret because she is with an airborne unit. Even though she doesn't have jump wings herself, she still wears it for purposes of uniformity within the unit.

That doesn't even make sense...if you did not regret a crime you allegedly committed...wouldn't that make you guilty, vice not guilty?

The judge declared a mistrial because Graner's defense asserted that England was following what she believed to be reasonable orders...but then England plead guilty.

Here is from CNN:

Graner testified Wednesday that he placed a dog leash around an Iraqi prisoner's neck and asked England to lead him out of his cell -- a legitimate technique for doing so, he said. England, who was photographed holding the leash, was just following orders, Graner said.

After that, Judge Col. James Pohl excused the jury and gave defense attorneys a tongue-lashing. Graner's testimony, he pointed out, contradicted England's guilty plea Monday to seven criminal counts -- each of which was represented by a photograph of her posing next to naked Iraqi prisoners in humiliating positions. In making that plea, she admitted her participation and said she knew it was wrong. If she was just following orders, Pohl said, she should be pleading not guilty.

Following a recess, defense attorneys told Pohl that England wished to enter a plea of not guilty, and Pohl declared a mistrial.

As for her kid, Abu Ghraib was apparently like the Army's version of Jerry Springer. Graner knocked up England, then married Spec. Megan Ambuhl who was ALSO found guilty in the prisoner abuse trials...

I am waiting for one of them to bust out with "I'm REALLY A MAN" (probably England) and all of them to start throwing chairs at each other.

You can't be serious? Do you know what kind of firestorm that would create? Personally, I have no problem with any of their methods, but once that stuff becomes public knowledge, then all bets are off. They have to nail that b!tch to the cross in a very public way. She probably deserves it.

I think her only crime is she is not terribly bright - you can only push the accoyuntabvility thing with an E-3 only so far. This gal has been pregnant with 2 different guys? Ya think she might have small issues with judgement?

This poor girl was out looking to be one of the guys - poor judgement - so we agree she needs to be in another profession, send her home and move on to more important stuff. It's just not worth the time, resources, to prosecute (read "crucify") this poor, uninformed (ingorant?) gal. She's a victim of her own stupidity IMHO.

You can not ignore the fact that the Army doesn't operate in a vacuum. The public/world at large needs to see someone hang so the US can be considered repentant. Who better than the people who were posing in the pics. Sure, the left would love to see Rumsfeld go down, but that is never going to happen and would be inappropriate. I guess what I'm saying is that you can't just ADSEP her and call it a day. That would be perceived as sweeping it under the rug.
