The CH-46E NATOPS chapter 4 used to have "acrobatics" listed under Ch 4 prohibited manuevers. I always thought, "Okay, we'll do some loops and wingovers, but you guys in back--no somersaults or cartwheels, got it?"

Yep, gotta stay at least 4 miles from the center of any airways (FAR 91.303[d]). Hopefully I'll be living near some open airspace or an aerobatic box when I get that plane. I understand what you're saying about noise complaints and pissing off your 'benefactors;' that would be another benefit of owning vs. renting.

I flew in a friend's SNJ-5 Texan and the prop tips sometimes went supersonic. It was VERY audible! I believe it's got a bigger prop than the Pitt's, but I don't know how the RPM compares.
