well that's what I heard, but it was as simple as a buddy who just joined a new squadron saying "I heard they're thinkin' about going to a 3 month rotation" and me saying "that would be interesting" I'll certainly ask him where he heard it. I understand the points about getting in the groove at that point, but a guy can dream

I'm an Air Force guy, so I've never really seen a carrier. One question? Where's the golf course at?

I was just at the 3M PGA seniors tournament this weekend...and to be quite honest, I'd rather be on a boat then at the golf course again.

Sorry I would normally not do that, but when you're obviously getting in a dig about how you don't have to deploy on carriers, I consider it my duty to correct you for ending a sentence with a preposition. "where's the golf course?" works just fine without the "at." I promise it's all in good fun, as I'm sure your comment was.

Air Force "Guy". What, pray tell is that? When did we start calling "them" that? Must be one in a million!! Or are we going soft?

Man, I don't know about 6 months on a carrier, but i assure you 18 months on a sailboat with your family is a recipe for insantity.

Is it truely like a "floating city" as I have heard on the discovery channel? Besides what it is obviously made for, what things on it are there for personel's free time? I assume a gym, basketball court? Stuff like that...

haha............you actually thought that would be a good idea??? Back in HS my fam couldnt go on a two day trip without everyone trying to rip eachothers throats by the end of day one :).....hell even then we could get out of the car everyonce in a while!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm a avid sailer and windsurfer, but a month or two max would be the most I think anyone could haddle on a sailboat with the fam!
