I guess I was basing my clothing opinion on tundra weather. Wear whatever, but keep this in mind. You never dress for you job, you dress for the job you want.

Great point...better get a flightsuit or surplus uniform before you go. They'll know you're extra motivated and push you through real quick.

No argument there, and I would say this is true when going to see a recruiter for the first time or any sort of interview. MEPS is a different animal, and if you think you are anything but a number to those guys, think again. They could care less what you are wearing as long as it blends in with the hundreds of other kids running around in there. They are much more interested in you spreading your cheeks and duck walking in your undies than whether you are sporting nice duds.

^^^ Ditto on that, all I wore when I went was a tshirt, shorts, and a pair of flip flops, and that was when I went in for boot camp. They could give a rats ass about you other than they need to push you through.

My recruiter just called me: "You're going to MEPS on Friday".

Finally! Now, I've read all the advice on the threads. But one thing I didn't find...what do I need to bring to MEPS? Social Sec. Card? Passport? Birth Cert.?
Am I allowed to have an iPod?
And who should I tell that I am an OC instead of an enlisted recruit? Or just play along until someone notices?

Ask your recruiter about things to bring because they could have changed. As for an iPod I imagine not. As for your status they will know that you are going for an officer position and treat you as a human. New about to be enlistedmen get treated like crap.

and be careful when filling out the forms at the beginning. There was a question (around #11 or so i think) that asks if you're applying for enlisted or commissioning so pay attention. And dont worry about an ipod. You're not there that long. At least I wasnt.

Yeah, MEPS didn't take too long as far as the physical went. Just make sure you don't change anything on the forms, no matter how much they try to scare you into doing so. As long as you know that it will not affect your performance as an Officer in the Navy or MC, then all it will do is cause more paperwork headaches and holdup your process.
It was interesting talking with all the recruits there...all wide-eyed, fresh out of high school, and some not even yet. The thing that really struck me is that they believed everything their recruiters told them.
Oh yeah...drink LOTS of water that morning. Some of the in-processing kids were held up because they couldn't pee for the life of them.
