Hello everyone,
I have received information from my CCC that during 06STA-21, candidates for pilot option who underwent laser eye surgery will be considered ineligible. Does anyone have any more info on that?
Thank you for replies ahadu

Hmm, never heard that. I can't answer that for you, but I can say don't take a CCC's word on it. Find out from a doc. Or, just apply anyways and if you get npq'd you get npq'd.

Lasik is disqualifying for SNA and SNFO. It also is disqualifying for many other communites however those are the only two that do not offer a wiver for the LASIK surgery. However, PRK is not disqualifying as long as your eyes were withing the pre op limits for refractive error. I had the PRK surgery because I initially was going to go SNA at OCS but found out later that there were no billets available for me. I settled for NUPOC. I have LOTS of info on the instructions for the waiver and all if you want more info. Hope this helps.

Hey thanks for reply,
as of today on the sta-21.mil I've seen a new statement declaring that medical paperwork SHOULD NOT be included in the package. That is good. Could you please post links or info about the details about PRK, waiver etc?
thanks a lot

Splash,
I'm scheduled for the PRK surgery this July, and I will be looking into applying for SNA as well. If you don't mind, I'd like to pick your brain a little at the time to submit my package draws near. Thanks in advance!

ahadu,
Where exactly did you find where it says that you do not have to submit the medical paperwork?
