Alrighty... what can I say other than reiterate the fact that you should study the Gouges on this site like none other. Only gripe I have is the spatial apperception (as previously mentioned) is different on this one than the site or ARCO books. Although, ARCO is still good practice, for sure... I wouldn't have gotten 34/35 on the SAT portion without having looked at that (I went out and got the latest ARCO Military Flight Aptitude Tests if only to have a full spread of orientations to practice with).
Anyway, I ended up with a 9 for my Pilot FAR, 8 for my NFO, and a 58 OAR, and an 8 AQR
. My recruiting officer said that those scores should help me put in a strong package for Pilot, in spite of my rather poor GPA.
I'm tryin to remember some things that may have been sticky. I missed a few more on the MVT and MCT than I thought I would. Know your electrical stuff a little more than is emphasized in the gouges here and the books.
Anyway, I'm rather pleased, it really isn't any more difficult than the problems that are presented in the gouges here. Just make sure you try to practice under honest time constraints as they would be in the exam.
Final thing... afterword when talking to the recruiting officer, I asked to look at current slot availability. FY '04 is right out, they already have 220 out of 208 flight slots taken (yes, that's right, overfilled). NFOs are still needed for '04 though. FY '05, on the other hand, is looking mighty fine for pilots as of yet, with only 18 of 180 odd slots having been filled yet (with luck, that will be +1 in the next few months
). He said there are NO surface warfare slots open (filled by the Naval Academy consistently), and while subs are ok, you have to do the nuclear program, which required a better GPA (in my case
) and a strong, preferably technical degree.

PS - I took Form 1, 1992 Edition at the NRD Denver office.
