How does the process of selecting a university work? Do you have to meet the universities admission requirements or are you subject to different admission requirements? Also, are you able to choose the university of your choice as long as they have an NROTC Battalion?

I've put this out here before. If you have completed both semesters of calc (or three quarters), your chances of being selected for STA-21 increase substantially.FMRAM said:I think that sailors with a solid math background have better chances of getting picked up.
My advice is to go ahead and apply early. I left for deployment last June and found out that I had been selected for STA-21 in early November. At that point, I had only done a little bit here and there in terms of applying to colleges because I thought I had plenty of time. It turned out that the STA-21 guys in Pensacola wanted acceptance letters from colleges by the 19th of December. Luckily, I had my wife to take care of things that I couldn't do from overseas and we finally got everything together, but not without a ton of nail biting and phone calls.AWguy04 said:Not yet.
