In an indication of Japan "coming out of its post-1945 shell", a squadron of Japanese Air Self Defense Force F-15Js will deploy to Europe this month. The fighters will visit the UK and Germany in Europe, then fly to CFB Goose Bay in Canada before returning home to Chitose, Japan, via Alaska. The deployment will be brief but unprecedented to my knowledge.
