There are a series of David Hackathorn/Larry Vickers 1911-centric training classes being put on around the country this year, supposedly in honor of the centennial. They're 3 day, intermediate type courses, specifically for 1911 skill building. They also have a traveling circus of historic and uber-custom guns, technical experts, and 1911 historians that are part of the events. The only problem is, the damn classes sold out inside of 12 hours from when they went public (I think it was Grey Group Training that is running them).
