Is There A T-34C Flight Sim Add-On Out There?

Killing time in A-Pool is becoming more and more difficult. I guess that I'll try to do something constructive...does anybody know if there is a T-34 Add-On to MS Flight Simulator?

Yes. When I checked into Primary and got my books they gave us a cd that adds the T-34 and Whiting, Corpus and Pcola onto MS FS 2002. Don't know if you can get it commercially, but if I had a burner I'd be glad to burn you a copy and send it to you. PM me if I can help.

you can go see the IFS office down at A-pool and they have the older version (for MSFS 98). It still works in 2004, you just have to manually move the files (example, the folder listed "T-34C", on the CD, to the folder called 'Aircraft' in the Flight simulator folder. The same needs to be done for the florida, texas, alabama scenery files) Somebody on this forum has the 2002 version already online, However if they don't contact you just PM me and i'll send you the a/c files. Alphasim also sells an addon, that is a little more visually asthetic, but they don't have the modified scenery files.

Can someone upload the FS2002 t-34 aircraft folder and the t-34 ifr folder and the Florida, and Alabama scenery files. I need the ones from the task trainer for MSFS 2002. I have the 98 files and I have the disk for the 2002 files, but I can't install it since i don't have MSFS 2002. Anyway, I just need the aircraft files and the scenery files from the 2002 because the model is more up to date. If anyone has these I would really appreciate it if you would contact me.

If you don't know how to retrieve the aircraft folders and the scenery files, you just go to the MSFS 2002 folder and open the "aircraft" folder (you'll see t-34 under there if you installed the part task trainer) and the 'scenery' folder for the scenery files.

Any help is appreciated. I've tried to do some IFR stuff on the old 98 t-34 models but it isn't acting like it should (compared to the microsim's in the learning lab).

Sort of a related question ... Are the micro sims in the squadrons and the Sim building worthwhile? I've never seen anyone using them, and we have such limited time in between flights. In other words, does anyone out there recommend spending some time on them, or is it better spent in the pubs? Also it seems like the trim in those things is jacked.

I use them alot, and I have a set up at home. It really depends on what you are trying to get out of them. I just use them to help me get good at procedures. That way when I am in the plane I can remember them all a little more clearly. The discuss items for the flight come easy to me, the procedures are where the money is made anyway. The better you know the procedures the better you do.

Yeah there is but it isn't nearly as realistic but merely for visual pleasure.

However, the Bravo model is very realistic. Also, there is a T-37B model that is truly "as real as it gets", so if you're coming to vance, use that to get a heads up about the aircraft and instruments. That is what I did before I went to Vance and it really did help.

I believe the microsims are useless. Squid made a good point to know your procedures. However, chair flying is just as (if not more) effective as using those sims. I say this because you cannot effetively learn the landing pattern,spins or even straight and level with that crappy trim. They may help with HAPL's and LAPL's, but using the pictures in your mind of the actual working areas makes it more realistic. Last time I checked you didn't have to push one of three buttons to look outside the cockpit in the T-34.

In BI's when I was bored I would do my procedures inverted in the microsims.
