Hello everyone,
I am looking to get some clarification on a matter regarding TIS requirements for certain designators (particularly IP, SUPPO, CWO I-SEL) and have not gotten an answer from my recruiter. I served 5 years active and 3 in IRR. At first, I was told I qualify for ISEL for CWO due to GPA and OAR but upon reading the PA, the criteria says
“Time in Service (TIS): No more than 5 years of total active service (or cumulative in-active TIS)”
Wouldn’t inactive include IRR, where I would technically have >5 years and not be considered eligible for ISEL? And for IP it states a waiver is required for
“Qualifying service between 72 months and 120 months.”
Again, what includes “qualifying service?” does this include IRR as well or just time on active duty? This matter is a big deal in my situation, as it’s the difference between ISEL and potentially needing a waiver (which could be denied) just to apply to these programs. Any clarification or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
