I see the middle eastern media can't get their photos straight re: the Iranian 313. Does anyone know which photo from the stories below is correct? The ALJ photo seems more plausible that the other photo in the Islamicinvita... story. Regardless, It looks like they're getting some tech assist from another country. Or is this old news?

I'll go out on a limb and guess that the radar evading claim might be an application of some RAM paint on the surfaces. One of the aircraft appears to be not so stealthy by its shape/curves.

It looks like a mockup from a cheap (and I do mean cheap...) Hollywood/Bollywood movie. Intakes way too small, overall fuselage way too small, the "pilot" in the seat looks like he's in one of those airplane rides at a cheap amusement park - lower that canopy and the dude is going to need a serious neck massage. Gives you some insight into the mindset of the Iranian govt, who seem to think that no one notices this kind of stuff: F@&^d up.

Probably just a showpiece for media purposes. Very small and only single engine. I dont see how it could carry any ordnance and a pilot at the same time. And those seams look pretty bad. Probably just built to look like it's has stealth capabilities.

The Al Jazeera photo is of the Saeqeh, a 'development' of the F-5E. I am not sure what if anything they did other than put two vertical stabs on an F-5 but why not, let them claim it is an fearsome new fighter that will let them defeat the imperialists and zionists that are plotting their destruction! There is Wikipedia page already up for the Q/F-313 that has some more photos.

But wait, the two fighters mentioned aren't the only aircraft those awesome Iranians have developed in the last few years in order to defend their homeland, among their other creations are;

If memory serves the Bavar 2 is indeed a SWO's nightmare. Anything that is constructed of wood and fly's 5 feet above the water level (and slow) makes a SWO nervous. CIWS had certain challenges with targets below the water line back in the day. That was probably fixed 20+ years ago. Never underestimate stupid weapons systems, they are the ones that can occasionally beat the system.

Uh…absolutely NO DISRESPECT to the Shriners intended…they do great work for so many.

And a joke inadvertently sheds light on the ugly truth. For as goofy as they look on parade, every Shriner is a member of a Brotherhood that stands for so many things the Iranian regime would and has suppressed, especially the idea that all good men of faith, regardless of their faith, can meet on the level. Every Shriner is a Master Mason, though not every Master Mason (myself included) is a Shriner.

The Grand Lodge of Iran was suppressed during the Iranian Revolution, and currently meets in exile. Iran has joined such illustrious company as Nazi Germany and Fascist Spain in outlawing the Craft and persecuting my Brothers.
