Greetings,

I realize this site is geared more toward officer programs, however it seemed to be the most knowledgeable site about the Navy Reserve. I have 12 years prior service in the USCG reserve. I have been out for about 2 years now and was considering going into the Naval Reserve as an IS, with the ultimate goal of getting commissioned. Does anyone know what the initial accession training is for prior service enlistments. I read somewhere that there is a 17 day "indoc" and then I heard that you just start drilling at a unit. Also does the correspondence intel course apply to enlisted in lieu of "A" school. I know there are two local NOSC's in my area, (NY), do they all have intel ratings. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to reach out to the local reserve/prior service recruiting office. Most NOSCs have a prior service recruiting office in which someone can guide you in the right direction.
