This may seem a little unbelievable, but don't disagree with your inspecting officer/instructor. A candidate in my platoon actually did this regarding a scratched belt buckle. SI: "Scratched belt buckle"
OC: "Gunnery Sergeant, This candidate just bought this buckle at the PX."
SI: "Well, it's fricking scratched candidate. Pay attention to detail."
OC: "This candidate does not believe the buckle scratched Gunnery
Sergeant."
This scene went on until the Gunny actually instructed the candidate to look at the scratch on his belt buckle.
Shows serious balls, but also a lack of brains.
He wasn't my part of my platoon staff, but I've never seen GySgt. Whobrey show that kind of restraint when an a$$ ripping was so ready to be handed out.
