Don't get me wrong...its interesting, but I just don't see that it would do anything better than alot of exisitng arms. Want to plink small critters in suburbia? Buy an RMS that puts a .22 cal pellet out at 1000fps...and save yourself 400$. I'm not arguing that it produces the same energy, but I've killed raccoons with mine. Even better though...buy a suppressed Ruger 10/22 for about the same money...it is likely quieter than the air rifle. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=72079883

My RWS is actually pretty loud. Not the typical rifle noise, but it has a bark....just assuming that this would be similarly noisy.

They are very quiet, especially if you have some Aguilla sub-sonic ammo to go along with it. Both 22 longs and 22 Shorts seem to produce less noise than regular .22 Long Rifle, but are noisier than the sub-sonic stuff.

Aguila SSS is hard to stabilize because it is so long (think 60 grain 22 round!) so you need a slow twisting barrel to keep it from keyholing. Colibri is a primer-only round that, even without a suppresor, is quiter than an airgun. Only 500 fps, but I can shoot cans in my backyard or garage out of a Ruger 22/45 all day with no complaints.

BTW, Aguila SSS will cycle a semi, Colibri will not.

Why even bother shooting said rodents? Show some game... sneak up on the varmint and use your Kbar to cut it ear to ear.:icon_rage

With subsonic in my 597, the loudest noise is the slide slamming back and fourth.
