Information Warfare Redesignation

I'm currently in Intermediate training as an SNFO and am finding I'm not a good fit in the community. I am wondering if anyone has any recent information on the chances of a lateral transfer to Information Warfare.

You just missed the deadline for this June's lat xfer board, but since you're coming out of a pipeline, I think you can transfer without board action, because otherwise you'd be sitting around waiting for Novembers boards and even longer for the results without a real job.

As you can see, they selected 6 people into IW, so the spots are definitely there. Again, you probably won't go through board action, so see if you can find some contacts in the IW community to speak with.

You didn't give to many details about your situation, but be careful about quiting while your in a training command. As I'm sure many people on this board can attest to, the fleet is very different. If its the flying itself that you don't like, that too gets better with time. Like I said, not enough information to really tell, and I'm sure that you've put a lot of thought into the decision, but just be careful. It's a choice you only get to make once!

Are you planning on DOR-ing now and trying to redesignate or waiting until you're winged and putting in for a lat transfer?
