Congratulations Spiff. I'm sending in my packet in a few weeks. Maybe if I get in I'll get the same OCS date.

How long ago did you send your package in? Also, didn't you have PRK?

Actually I found out via e-mail from my recruiter that I got it. Yes I had PRK too, I sent in my app a lil' over 3 months after I had it. I had to have all the records from it...pre-op, op, and all the post-op visits...plus a letter from the doc saying I'm good-to-go. I submitted around the 2nd week of July and found out August 6th. I got the formal letter w/ my date and designator a few days later. Yeah it felt good when I read the e-mail...I was literally jumping around the room when I called my girl. Yeah I had some prior flight time, a few hours in a piper-saratoga and a UH-1 full motion, instrument simulator on an Army base in Los Alamitos, CA- where I went for Aviation Explorer Scout meetings ...that probably helped my package too. NEways...good luck JTP, ghost, aoconnor and cman on your apps. Feel free to shoot any more ?s my way...And yeah what about Mike Webb? How's his app going? He had PRK before I did but had to wait 6 months instead of 3. Guess I should e-mail him.

Photojournalist? Man, I bet your really excited about your news..HAHAHA!! Just got back from my 3 month post-op. I have all the paperwork, and plan to submit next Thursday. Spaceman, once again congrats, I can only dream of how your feeling. Rub some of your destiny my way come next week..

Oh Yeah...all the ATL recruits in here....did Cheif Parrish lose anything from yalls file when they moved last week? I could have submitted my package today, but she lost or misplaced 3 of my recs and one of my transcripts. She reissued the package for the rec's again today. I was pissed, but why not wait another week when I've waited 3 months.

YEAH COME ON!!

Congrats man you made it!! I must say I am glad to have finally found another person with the same OCS date as myself! I was beginning to think there was a "special" class just for me. Anyone else out there Aug 2 2003? We could sure use the company when trying to hide from the DI's!

Hey everyone! Got a question. I just got my BS in Pro Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle, prior Air Force 3.2 GPA no problems with med or PRT but my OAR was only 47. Don't have any flight time and I'm 24 years old. If I don't make it this time, does anyone think if I got my master's in aeronautical science in the next two years, would that look better than flight time. I don't have the time or money to get both a grad degree and a pilot license. So I need to choose.
Thanx for the info and best of luck to everyone in my shoes!

hey bonezz, you just wanna fly in the navy? not the air force? I mean your stats look good to get commisioned for sure, the pilot shit is little harder to get into. but when you submit your app. will you acccept a third choice? you're 24. me too. if you wait 2 years to submit and get a masters then you will be cutting it short on the age limit for pilot. I suggest retakeing the exam and submit the damn thing now.

have I got a long way to run...

Thanx for the reply Goliath. That test was hard for me, never been a strong test taker. I am going to submit in a week or so, but my recruiter says he has seen a spreadsheet (don't ask me where he got it) that shows 6 pilot slots left for this go 'round of FY03. Maybe more in the FY04 that starts next month? I've seen posts on this site about that, hope FY03 is over and it starts fresh next month. As for us Goliath, hope our GPA and school will count for something. I'm going to interogate my recruiter this week in Denver so I will let you know what he said. Good Luck brother.
