I'll be visiting a friend of mine who is an instructor pilot at NAS Kingsville next Thursday (Aug 30) afternoon, and then going to NAS Corpus on Friday for my flight physical. Afterwards, I'm scheduled to meet with a Commander for an interview in the hopes of getting an endorsement letter from him for my application.
I was told by my recruiter that it would help my cause tremendously to have as many letters of endorsement from Naval Aviators as possible. I was wondering, for those who are comfortable and might have some free time on base or off either day, if anyone would be interested in doing me the favor of granting me an interview and possibly a short letter of endorsement. I'm planning on going to dinner Thursday with a couple friends of mine in the pipeline and maybe we could meet then. Dinner of course would be on me (so not a bribe:icon_wink).
I understand that the board wants letters from people who know me well, and I have those, that's why I'm looking for a letter of endorsement not a letter of reccomendation (although that's probably just semantics). Nothing more than a stamp of approval from someone on the inside. Supposedly my recruiter said it would help, and I would sincerely appreciate anyone's offer to help give my app a little boost.
