All of the strike-navs in the AF go through the strike-NFO path at Pensacola. Additionally, a few pilots go through API and primary at VT-3. From my veiw, Navy training has been a......vacation. All the Navy/USMC dudes groan and complain about going through the AF side. Here, I'm home by three every day. On the Blue side, twelve hour days are required. So...if anyone seriously thinks that the AF is lazy and easy, I expect ya to volunteer for Vance or Moody.

I am familier with AF training. Maybe the reason they spend so many hours a day in training is they have so much BS to learn. In the NAvy we concentrate on getting the job done. It matters less how it gets done. That may not seem apparent to you guys in the VTs now but it will really be obvious when you get to the RAG and fleet. The incredible minutia the AF guys go thru is wild. The difference in AF and USN operations is summed up as follows: The Navy tells you what not to do. And that list is fairly short. The AF tells their people what they are permitted to do. That list is equally short. Apparently it takes them 10-12 hours a day training to ennumerate all the don'ts for their your pilots.
