OK, this is my first posting. I have always been highly interested in getting into the Navy as an Officer, however I have heard something that may stop me from getting accepted in OCS. I have a misdemeanor criminal charge that I received about 7 months ago. I am a full time college student and have 6 plus years of hard core computer skills. I have a 3.5GPA, scored a 64 on the ASTB, and have excellent recommendations. I am majoring in Information Systems (Business Major). The reason for my charge is related to someone STEALING my identity, but I did not have the resources (money) to fight the charges. I plead guilty to avoid jail time. I have NEVER done anything wrong besides this conviction that's on my record. I run circles on people on the computer and the recruiter saw my resume and immediately thought I would be excellcent as an officer. At the age of 21 I have already managed a Computer Department. DO I HAVE A CHANCE? Please be honest. And let me know if there is anything that I can to do better my chances.
