I was just curious, how many of you know other AWers in real life (if any). I'm sure there's a few but I'm curious to find out for sure. Thanks.

How about how many work for other AW members? How many have flown with other AW members? Yes and yes, by the way.

I knew people before I got on here and have met a lot more on here that I've come to know in person through the application process...kind of like an online dating site for naval aviation...haha kidding (yes the bad jokes will continue, I am sorry)

I know one from college. That was all I came in knowing, but like was said previously it definitely helped connect with all my 19 Oct. classmates.

I've met Schnugg, Flash, HAL Pilot, Cronach, kmac, and H20man in person.

HH-60H, Fetus, and EvilGN are classmates of mine from the Naval Academy.

gatordev and I went through VT-6 together (I was ahead of him, ha!).

I've crossed signals a couple of times with skidkid and barely missed linking up with Harrier Dude for sushi (damn flight schedule). I'm sure once we move to Norfolk the opportunity to meet/party with some of the other regulars is real.

Oh, and I'm married to Phrog'sShoeWife. ;)

Lets see..

Went to OCS with Kmac

Know cisforsmasher, a3b2c3, SDNnalgene, smuaustin, p1brule, H20Man, goldielocks, puck11, BaconUSMC, ACowboyInTexas, stickygdm, and that's just mostly the "locals".

Have been helped by many more, you know who you are.

Yes, I know more people from here. So don't feel bad if I left you off the list. I have a sim and don't feel like typing more at the moment.

I was wondering about this the other day. I've had run ins with the following AW celebrity hoodlums:
Brett327
KBayDog
nittany03

I've also crossed paths with several other people, but most of them I haven't seen in a while. Some people I know from TBS like reapergm and whalebite aren't around the site much anymore. And only one person ever has introduced me as Crowbar. You know who you are.

I was wanting to catch him at one of his Doolittle Raider's reunions, even though he wasn't on the raid, wasn't he a DH on Hornet at the time?

A4s is a reclusive creature, even for us Whidbey locals who have tried to coax him out of his compound. I've met a bevy of AW folks over the years - KBay my old SOCAL drinking buddy, Crowbar, Skidkid, Heyjoe, H2Oman, Nittany, Crysmc & her husband, Flash, Propstop, and all the Prowler community dudes who come on here from time to time. I run into people who figure out that I'm "that" Brett all the time - lurkers mostly. 99% positive experiences. Most people are surprised/disappointed that I'm not actually James Carville. Hopefully get to meet some more folks at Hook next month.

Brett
