Homemade CNC!

Holy cow, what do you guys think of this?! I know you can't do too much heavy stuff as you are limited to the tools and chucks that can be potentially mounted to this rig, but I can think of a few really cool things that can be done.

Yes please! These seem much more useful than the rapid prototyping machines that you can get. With a full size route, you could do up some pretty spiffy stuff.

Guy in my last squadron made his own CNC, wrote the code to control it, etc, right in his garage. Pro quality stuff that makes these look like toys. Pretty effing cool. Although he uses it for crazy engineering stuff, he can also throw a chunk of wood into it and churn out a bitchin set of 3D pilot or NFO wings in about 15 minutes.

Marine I worked with in P'cola bought a laser engraving machine and zapped squadron zappers into wood to make a chair rail for the instructor ready room. Looked pretty dope.
