Holiday breaks during training

I was just wondering if the trainees were allowed any time off during Christmas or Thanksgiving. Also, are the BOQ's only open to Navy folks, or is anyone eligible? Thanks for the help.

The BOQ is for any officer form any branch of service. Thanksgiving I think we had a four day weekend and for Christmas, we had a couple weeks off.

So if I report to P-cola no later than Dec 19, can I turn around and go home for the holidays, or will I be sitting Ensign bitch (you just got in the Navy now pay the man) duty? Oh yeah, and I am assuming the report date means I wont start API until at least a couple of weeks or more later!?!

I was told I have to report 23OCT and Im not supposed to start API until sometime in NOV.
