Funny . . . I was just talking about this with a C-130 guy the other day. Heavy gear falls faster anyway, even if all the chutes work. So you don't drop items with greater VSI (Humvees) on top of items with lesser VSI (people), or you're going to have problems even before anything hits the ground.

I saw a couple of these hard landings in 29 Palms. Jeeps not hummers but it still made a hell of a racket when they hit the ground.
