I just picked up a cockpit poster, and I heard guys say it's beneficial to highlight all instruments powered by the same source. Any suggestions as to colors and methods to use?
don't forget steamgatordev said:It is very important that you select the right colors. So which colors should you use?
The ones that work best for you. Really, it's not rocket science. Do what works best for you. There's only three types of sources: self-powered, DC, and AC.
That's a silly question. Compressed air comes from the 5th stage of your compressor stage (you know...suck, squeeze, bang, blow). If your compressor isn't compressing enough, compressed air is the least of your worries. It's an indication that your steam generating tubes are drying out. Bring a couple gallons of extra water with you to every flight. You don't want to be in goo and have your steam gauges go out on you. That would just suck.ArkhamAsylum said:Roger, thanks for the tips. My wife commented on how pretty my nice poster looks now. I used a lot of pink. Should I bring a bottle of compressed air in case the steam generator fails? :-D
Gotta go with Post-It notes, a la this guy ...phrogdriver said:Also, I've heard it's beneficial to "take notes" when reading the manuals. Do you guys recommend college-ruled or wide-ruled notepaper? :sleep_125
Just talk your IP into not making you put the bag up ... then you can stuff the avionics bay with the extra gas and put the luggage on top of the bag in the rear cockpit. Everybody wins ... I'd be a 'team player' and volunteer to refuel the plane in flight though, it's only right.wiseguy04 said:Yeah, you can usually fit a couple gallons in the avionics compartment in the back. But then you can't carry as much luggage. Your choice.
ArkhamAsylum said:Do the NATOPS say anything about bringing an extra gas can on X-country flights? I really don't want to have to land to refuel.
