I was in Jay's II in Pensacola the other day and they were freaking out about this. Wake me up if it ever gets out of committee. In addition to the GOP, I would submit that there are plenty of conservative Democrats in Congress who wouldn't piss on this bill if it was on fire.

Referred to the Judiciary and will probably be referred to the sub committee on crime or what ever it is they call it in the House. No one has even co-sponsored it yet. It could still pick some up, but if they haven't jumped on it in a month its likely no one is taking it seriously.

want a bigger laugh?

do some research on the assclown that proposed this bill.

You mean the US Rep from Illinois Bobby Rush? One time leader of the Illinois Black Panther Party? Yea he's an interesting character all right.

Leave it to Illinois to come up with more ways to keep us safe from guns. They did it for Chicago, why not the rest of the country.

And litigation is pending to fix that atrocity.

I'd be willing to bet the student that fired the gun on the bus was not a permit holder. Or any other shooters with ill-will. It amazes me that lawmakers still don't understand that gun laws only hurt the good guys. Criminals do not care what the laws are or what has to be registered, etc. I concur (pray) that it will not likely pass, but who knows w/the new administration.

Right. But even if the student had a permit it still shouldnt matter. If I kill someone by hitting them with my car, whether or not I have a lisence, doesnt predict the actions of others, both with and without lisences. I see no real difference with gun permits.

Most of Washington will vote the way the polls tell them too. It's not much more complicated than that.

Exactly...

I found myself to be very safe a few weeks ago in Chicago - because I was the only non-bad guy carrying besides the local PD. ;)

Umm . . . yeah. Go ahead and admit to breaking firearms laws on a public forum. Great idea.
