Help With My Research Paper, Please!

In all seriousness (and while I'm generally not approving of getting homework help via internet forums, this seems kinda appropriate), you could definitely write 12 pages on how your major WON'T help what you want to do with your degree. I can't tell how how funny it is that every time people ask me what I want to do with an English degree I can respond with "I want to fly for the Navy". "What? With an English degree"? It seems as though the topic might be asking how future goals and the major are intertwined. Write about why they're not. Fuck it. It's college, the prof will probably laugh and have a good time reading it. The beauty of it: if it's well written and supported, you can't be wrong!
Why don't you write about how "n 1930, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, in an effort to alleviate the effects of the... Anyone? Anyone?... the Great Depression, passed the... Anyone? Anyone? The tariff bill? The Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act? Which, anyone? Raised or lowered?... raised tariffs, in an effort to collect more revenue for the federal government. Did it work? Anyone? Anyone know the effects? It did not work, and the United States sank deeper into the Great Depression. Today we have a similar debate over this. Anyone know what this is? Class? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone seen this before? The Laffer Curve. Anyone know what this says? It says that at this point on the revenue curve, you will get exactly the same amount of revenue as at this point. This is very controversial. Does anyone know what Vice President Bush called this in 1980? Anyone? Something-d-o-o economics. "Voodoo" economics."
*No, I don't know if the above quote has anything to do with the exciting world of business marketing. All I know is that if you have the opportunity to throw in a quote from a John Hughes movie, you do it.

It's macroeconomic theory. In general it doesn't really matter, as the Laffer curve is a revenue maximizing equation. Most will agree that the purpose of government taxation is not to maximize revenue.
There's a paper idea for you.
Well it certainly isn't to minimize government revenue. If we agree that taxation is the major source of revenue generation for the government, then policies that maximize revenue would be desirable. Or do we burden the citizenry with taxes without regard for the efficiencies or outcomes of our taxation or the fiscal policies that effect revenue?

From a rational expectation economic perspective:
The Laffer Curve simply doesn't provide an effective (usable) model on which to base tax policy (I'm not trying to imply there is one). It certainly isn't the only important tax/revenue relationship, particularly with consideration toward supply side economics.
Today, taxation is more about directing social policy and influencing voters first, and covering the governments expenses second. See California's current "Financial Crisis."
Keep in mind that the Federal Income Tax was ruled unconstitutional until the 16th Amendment.
I think we agree Wink. I just wanted to clarify that I don't believe that the Laffer curve is useless, just not perfect.

In one of my other threads I asked for help about choosing a research topic for a research paper that I have to write for my English 102 class. I ended up choosing to explore different aspects of the JSF F-35. Particularly, the advancements in technology and avionics utilized in the F-35. To accumulate research on this subject, I have to conduct interviews with people who know about my topic. What better people to ask than aviators in the naval aviation community? Please help me out by answering some of my questions, addressing new ones, and providing any other information that would help me out.
I know some of these questions can be answered through book research, but I want your personal opinions.
1. How does the technology utilized in the F-35 set it apart from other planes?
Can you go over some differences between the F-35 and other planes its replacing or working with?
2. How do you feel that this plane would benefit the US military?
3. How do you feel about the F-35 being available to other nations?
4. What do you think were some alternative options to a JSF program?
5. In your opinion, what is the most innovative part of the F-35?
6. How would you feel about flying the F-35?
I would also really appreciate any more opinions you would like to express. I need as much info as I can get.

Well, it is supposed to be a stealth aircraft. It will work well with the F-22. The Marine version will use a new form of VSTOL. Amazing stuff. A lot of the stuff is a natural progression technology wise. Stealth is the biggest thing, as low observable is the way of the future. A good reference for this is the documentry about these technologies called, not suprisingly, "Stealth." It was actually played nationally in movie theaters, so your local blockbuster likely has a copy.
2. How do you feel that this plane would benefit the US military?
On long missions, even the most savy pilot can get fatigued. Its true. We have all heard the saga of the "Go Pills" used in longer missions. The JSF is really going to help with that. Although the pilot-interface is awesome, the real benefit will be the smelling-salt effect that the JSF has. Little known to most outside the community, the "New Jet Smell" actually preventy the pilot from getting groggy. In fact, some say that upon entering the cockpit of a jet for the first time they even get a somewhat Viagra-like effect.
3. How do you feel about the F-35 being available to other nations?
I think it is totally awesome. I love the idea of an exchange tour. If my snowboard fits in the baggage pod, that would be an even bigger bonus.
4. What do you think were some alternative options to a JSF program?
This is actually a little tough to answer without you having a security clearance. But if you refer to answer one and watch the suggested documentry, you will have a pretty good idea.
5. In your opinion, what is the most innovative part of the F-35?
You will get answers all across the board here, but I have to say it is hands down the paint-scheme. Painting a jet matte gray is really going to be a step in the right direction. Don't be suprised if you see more and more tactical jets taking on this hue in the VERY near future.
