I have to write a research paper for my Hon. English 102 class that is supposed to be about my major or my future career goals. Now, my major is business marketing and my career goal is obviously to fly in the military. Can someone suggest topics for a 12-15 page research paper? I'm having trouble thinking of something that I can find enough research about to write 12 pages.

How about:

A Methodology for the Study of Wide-Area Networks
or
Decoupling Symmetric Encryption from Superpages in Von Neumann Machines
or
A Methodology for the Emulation of 802.11 Mesh Networks
or maybe
Certifiable, Empathic Epistemologies for B-Trees

Hows about the history of Naval Aviation... you can easily get 12 pages on that.

Hell, I got 10 just on the use of lighter-than-air craft in the Navy.

This isn't due tomorrow is it? :D

Seriously, make something up. I find it's always easier to write about something I'm NOT passionate about. Usually, if I wrote about something I enjoyed, I waited until the last minute anyways, ended up despising or becoming dissolusioned with the cool factor of my topic ('cause I had to write about it now!). At least with something you aren't interested in you'll be motivated to power through it.

I dunno, write about growth in China and how you are going to market American products to people who can't really afford them (Personally I'm trying to figure out how to spell "opium" with the words, "easy credit").

In reality, I'll probably end up waiting until the last minute anyways.

Hey, that's why I'm in the libary tonite even though January Term is OVER, writing on Japanese Literature and FEMINISM! :(

Something you just have to put off.

Find me some science journals or dissertations to quote and we're a go.

I guess I could do something about how internet forums distract people from their real work. :D

How about a paper on the cost analysis of military recruitment through the use of conventional and unconventional means.:D

Or better yet! How about a paper on how certain women have exploited the use of military dating sites in order to support their bigamist lifestyle? :D

I think that I have decided to go with an analysis of the technological advancements of the F-35 and its role in replacing other aircraft. Any thoughts? It may not be the best topic, but this thing has to get done.

Since you have to spend time researching pick something you are interested in or the project will be more miserable.

Mandatory national service is a possible topic (and an argument.) If it's expository, pick an aspect of military aviation of interest to you. What about the evolution of air weaponry; the aspect that modern weapons are more ethical as they are more precise would make it argumentative, or you could write on the evolution of navy planes (which would mean reading some scientific articles--but you might find it interesting.)

You could write about defense weaponry and fill out your paper with some possible defense situations (what ifs.)

Make sure that you stick to structural conventions in your paper--all those topic sentences, etc. add up to a higher grade.
