I am at Moody and this Monday we have our first day of class. The class has to come in their Service Dress Blues. I have to come in my seasonal equivelant. What is the seasonal equivelant to the Air Force's Service Dress Blues? I know it is white, but liberty's or chokers?

Actually, the Navy's Service Dress Blue is accepted year round, so I think that would be the equivalent to the Air Force's SDBs. You can't go wrong with that. Chokers are for really formal stuff, the SDBs is basically the Navy's version of a suit.

I would say if the AF guys show up in their SDBs, you should be in SDBs. If the AF guys get to wear their ugly ass light blue uniform with soft shoulder board insignia, then you could get away with wearing summer whites/khaki.

Chapter 6 of the uniform regs has a table that shows equivalent uniforms across the different services. The Air Force column lists their service dress blues multiple times with the Navy equivalents of dinner dress to SDBs. This seems a little formal; are you sure they didn't say service uniform? That is equivalent to khakis or summer whites (your choice, I guess).

I suggest the "Donald Duck":

Choker whites, shoulder boards, super cool war-hero National Defense ribbon...

and no pants.

"and no pants."

Well, I will be behind a desk most of the day...and pantaloons are dreadfully uncomfortable.

First off, my heartfelt sympathies for ending up at Moody and having to go through AFBS for primary, I pray the T-6 makes it worth it for you. I am pretty sure summer whites is the Navy uniform that is the equivalent for you. However, if in doubt, unsure, or can't find anyone to ask who can confirm this, then SDBs are 100% acceptable.

That's a negative, I went through advanced at Vance so I got intimately familiar w/ AETC. There's at least 2 guys here who did go through Moody, one's a 45 guy (becareful of him, at times he sounds like he actually liked it there :icon_tong ), and I'm not sure what the other guy ended up getting. I think there screen names are shoo and Vic or something like those. Talking to the T-37 Navy/MC guys at Vance, about 90% hated it, 9% were indifferent, and 1% liked it, I refered that 1% to a psychologist immediately, lol.

Just wear your Khakis, don't stand out. Most of the AF instructors don't know anything about the Navy and don't care. By the way, AF f***ing sucks!

The report for the T-6 crash comes out today and don't worry it was all pilot error. The T-6 is an awsome A/C.

While I haven't read the 27-page report, I've been briefed well enough to know the story and yeah, I know it's aircrew error...

Without being indiscreet though, I'd be a little bit concerned if I were a student at Moody...

And I agree, the T-6 kicks ass!
